Choosing a system

Which Tecloman product family should I explore?

Start with the application: residential, commercial and industrial, utility-scale, mobile power or a remote site. Our project planning guide links to the relevant ranges. A product family is a starting point; the complete configuration depends on your project.

What is the difference between kW and kWh?

Power, in kW, describes the rate at which equipment supplies or uses electricity. Energy, in kWh, describes the amount stored or used over time. A project needs both: enough output for the loads and enough usable energy for the intended operating period.

Why are nominal and usable battery capacity different?

Nominal capacity is the battery's stated storage capacity. Usable capacity is the energy available within its specified operating limits. Compare current model documents using the same measure, and use usable energy when discussing the duration you want the battery to support.

How do I choose a battery size?

Bring your electricity use, operating hours, solar generation and main goal to the discussion. Define essential loads if backup matters. Your installer or project engineer should assess these details with the proposed equipment; a household average or a product's largest capacity is not a site design.

Compatibility & operation

Can a battery be added to my existing solar system?

Often this is possible, but the existing inverter, electrical installation and proposed battery must be checked together. Some systems need additional or replacement equipment. Confirm the exact battery-inverter combination against current manufacturer compatibility information before committing to a configuration.

Will every battery provide backup during a blackout?

No. Backup depends on the inverter, controls, electrical arrangement and the circuits selected for backup. Ask your installer which loads can operate, what power is available and how the system behaves during an outage. Battery capacity alone does not establish backup capability.

Is backup the same as going completely off grid?

No. A grid-connected backup system supports selected loads during an interruption. A standalone power system must be designed for the site's ongoing supply needs, available generation and periods of low renewable output. Remote projects may require other generation as part of the design.

Can the equipment be installed outdoors?

Check the exact model's environmental rating, temperature range, installation instructions and siting requirements. Exposure, ventilation, access and local installation conditions all matter. An outdoor application image does not establish that a particular layout is suitable for your site.

Models, documents & approvals

Where can I find Firefly Pro CEC information?

Our CEC Listing collection contains the Firefly Pro high-voltage residential battery family. Check the exact model in the current CEC battery register. A battery listing does not establish approval of every inverter combination or complete installation.

Are Australian and New Zealand requirements the same?

Confirm the applicable product, installation and network connection requirements for the actual country and site. An Australian CEC listing should not be presented as blanket New Zealand approval. Your local installer or project engineer should confirm the complete proposed configuration.

Where are datasheets, manuals and warranty documents?

Start with the download centre and the relevant product page. Match the exact product model and document revision. If a document or compatibility statement is missing, ask our Australian team for the current information.

What warranty applies to a product?

Use the warranty document supplied for the exact model and market. Check the coverage, operating conditions, any energy-throughput or cycle limits and the claim process. Request the applicable terms with your proposal; there is no single warranty statement covering every product on this site.

Starting a project

What information should I send for a project enquiry?

Include the location, application, main goal, known power and usable-energy needs, existing equipment and target timing. Load data or an available single-line diagram can help. Use our project brief builder to prepare a starting enquiry.

Who handles enquiries from this website?

The Australian team handles enquiries received through this website. Contact Tecloman Pty Ltd in Perth through the project enquiry page or email info@tecloman.com.au. Include the project country so the team can understand your requirements.

What should I include in a support request?+

Include the product model, serial number, inverter model, installation date, installer contact, site state and postcode, fault code and a short description of the issue. Contact your installer for equipment inspection.

Where can I find Australian warranty terms?+

The Firefly battery warranty document is available in the download centre under Warranty terms. Read the complete supplied terms for the exact model, installation and claim requirements.

How do I confirm battery and inverter compatibility?+

Use the current Firefly Pro compatible inverter list and the EN & AU product manual. Check the exact inverter model and firmware with the installer before selecting a combination.

Does an overseas project case describe an Australian installation?+

Project case studies identify their actual locations. Australian application visualisations and planning examples illustrate possible uses; they are not presented as completed local installations.
